# Sql.yml Guide

## sql.yml

| Setting (Directive) | Options    | Description                                                                                                                                                                  |
| ------------------- | ---------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| useMySQL            | true/false | Whether to use MySQL or not. Don't enable before you type in your database credentials.                                                                                      |
| hostName            | String     | Database host. In most cases, the default will apply.                                                                                                                        |
| port                | String     | Database port. Leaving as default is recommended.                                                                                                                            |
| databaseName        | String     | Database name.                                                                                                                                                               |
| username            | String     | Database username.                                                                                                                                                           |
| password            | String     | Database password.                                                                                                                                                           |
| method              | String     | A feature that's being tested and isn't fully functional. Avoid changing.                                                                                                    |
| autoReconnect       | true/false | If your database disconnects a lot or drops the connection early then it's recommended to turn this on. It helps when you can control your hosting provider's configuration. |
| useSSL              | true/false | Whether your database connection requires SSL or not.                                                                                                                        |
| tablePrefix         | String     | Prefix for table. Unless specifically needed, leave as default.                                                                                                              |
